Background: The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc., Chapter 14-Oregon and Southern Washington, is the local chapter of the national APIC organization of professionals in the clinical practice of infection control and prevention and epidemiology taking place in a variety of health-care delivery settings (including acute care, long-term care, home care,public health, and the community. Professional affiliation (via national APIC and local APIC dues) provides professional advancement, enhances professional status at the workplace (among peers, and with the public) and provides much needed educational resources, continuing education and the support of and networking with colleagues. The "oswapic" mailing list is a local electronic resource network, available for the members to: post infection control questions, discuss issues, list educational resources, problem solve, and to view pertinent information including the monthly newsletter. IMPORTANT: The content of each oswapic posting is the responsibility of the sender and is for use by oswapic subscribers. "The OSW-APIC e-mail list does not endorse specific products or brand names. Requests for product information shall be posted with specific instruction to reply directly to the requesting party. Subscribing to oswapic
