We conduct this survey annually, and in the past we sent the survey link to library directors (public, academic and tribal) and the Oregon Association of School Libraries Board. After much discussion, we decided to expand our survey audience. in addition to those already mentioned, we are sending the survey to a number of other groups who represent library development customers: the OLA Executive Board and Intellectual Freedom Committee, LSTA and Statewide Database advisory committees, youth services librarians, LSTA grantees, and Plinkit users. We sent this announcement to several e-mail lists so you may get more than one invitation to participate. Please respond to the survey just once if you receive multiple invitations. The deadline for completion of the survey is May 31st. Thanks for your assistance with this project. As we have in the past, we will use the responses to help shape our priorities and projects. For a number of years the State Library paid for a statewide membership in BCR, that membership included all the libraries in Oregon. About this time last year BCR became part of Lyrasis. The State Library will no longer be purchasing a statewide membership to Lyrasis for all our libraries. However, Lyrasis agreed to provide a one year membership to every library in Oregon through July of 2011 (I'll check on the exact date and let you know). That membership is expiring and you now all have to decide if you want to continue a membership in Lyrasis at your own expense. I am also working with Regan Harper at Lyrasis on scheduling a webinar for Oregon libraries that will provide information on what membership includes and involved. There is information available about Lyrasis membership on their website: http://www.lyrasis.org and I will be in touch with information on the webinar for Oregon libraries. Thanks, MaryKay -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
