Hello Directors,

The following two-week online course is being offered by Infopeople that may be of interest to you:

Preparing and Implementing EDI Training in Your Library
An Infopeople [short format] online course: September 17, 2019 to September 30, 2019
Fee: $150

For a complete course description and to register go to https://infopeople.org/civicrm/event/info?id=863&reset=1

Are you interested in developing staff learning opportunities related to equity, diversity, and inclusion, but intimidated by the weight of these topics? Is your organization in need of staff training aimed at establishing a workplace culture that is affirming, representative, and inclusive? In this two-week course learners will practice the skills necessary to plan and facilitate an EDI-focused training for staff in their organization.

Instructors will provide relevant resources, connect you with library staff doing similar work, and give you the tools to get EDI training off the ground in your library. Additionally, you will examine your own organization's learning priorities, and, with the support of the instructors, develop a blueprint for a staff training opportunity that you can implement upon completing the course.

At the end of the course learners will be able to:

* Articulate the value of implementing EDI training to all staff

* Select appropriate resources to support staff learning on topics of EDI

* Evaluate the training needs of their library staff and adapt training accordingly

* Design and execute an EDI training at their library

Instructor: Allyson Coan & Laurel Johnson
