The Orbis Cascade Alliance is wrapping up the Accessibility Speaker Series<https://www.orbiscascade.org/about/events/meetings/a11y-speakers/> this month with their final webinar! All webinars are open and free to Alliance members<https://www.orbiscascade.org/about/members/>, affiliate participants<https://www.orbiscascade.org/about/affiliate-participants/>, and staff at academic libraries in Oregon, Idaho, and Washington. This includes all of you in Oregon academic libraries!

Frank will facilitate From Metadata to Discovery: Surfacing Accessible Resources with Primo<https://www.orbiscascade.org/about/events/meetings/a11y-speakers/#metadata-a11y> on Tuesday, March 31, 10:00am-11:00am Pacific. Description: Academic libraries offer many accessible resources, but they aren't always easy for users to find. This webinar highlights how Montana State University and the University of Montana, working within the TRAILS consortium, are enhancing accessibility metadata and Primo configurations to improve discovery. We'll share how this relates to the new Title II of the ADA, as well as our experiences working with students, steps for surfacing accessibility information for physical and media collections, and the Primo features that help users identify or request accessible formats. The session includes discussion and Q&A to exchange ideas across institutions.

Objectives for this webinar include:

  *   Understand how accessibility metadata can be added and exposed in Primo to support users with diverse needs.
  *   Explore usage, limitations, and challenges of accessibility metadata work.
  *   Recognize workflows and roles-including consortium considerations-that influence accessibility metadata projects.
  *   Collaborate with colleagues to identify opportunities for improving accessibility within discovery environments.

Live webinars will use Zoom's automated captions and transcripts, and recordings will have human-provided and edited captions and transcripts. Presentation slides will use large font size, and there will be limited flashing (no strobing) for slide transitions, animations, and videos. Registration forms include an option to indicate additional accessibility support needs.
