[Answerland] Starting tomorrow: The State of Jefferson Scavenger Hunt 2016 - high school

Hello Answerlanders,

In the past, competitors with the State of Jefferson Academic Scavenger Hunt have visited Answerland and asked us a lot of questions.

This year's high school hunt starts tomorrow (December 6, 7, & 8).  More info about the competition in the email below.

If you have a shift while the competition is open, please visit the scavenger hunt home page<https://inside.sou.edu/youth/competitions/scavenger-hs.html> and review the questions posted there - read through the questions once so you can recognize them because you aren't supposed to answer them! The questions will be posted when the competition begins tomorrow.

Why shouldn't you answer them? Besides the fact that the questions are a devastatingly hard, the students are supposed to find the answers on their own. You are welcome to assist students with search strategies - to suggest types of books or places to look for answers, to encourage them to brainstorm keywords to search for, and the like, but please, no answers.

The State of Jefferson Scavenger Hunt 2016 is an academic competition run by Southern Oregon University Pre-College Youth Programs will happen on the following dates. We have stated in the rules that the area librarians have received notification of the Hunt and have been told that they should not give direct answers to the teams.


STATE OF JEFFERSON SCAVENGER HUNT-MIDDLE SCHOOL
November 1, 2, 3 & 8
Middle school teams have three days to find answers to academic, audio music tapes, current news, art, and Internet questions using library resources and documentation.  The Hunt culminates in an adjudication session on Tuesday, November 8 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at Southern Oregon University.

STATE OF JEFFERSON SCAVENGER HUNT - HIGH SCHOOL
December 6, 7, 8 & 14
High school teams have three days to find answers to academic, audio music tapes, current news, art, and Internet questions using library resources and documentation.  The Hunt culminates in an adjudication session on Wednesday, December 14 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at Southern Oregon University.
