Good morning Answerlanders,

A fellow librarian needs our help:

"We would like help with a quotation search. Our patron is looking for the source of the quote 'our survival depends upon dialogue.' The patron believes that he heard it in an interview in 1969 or 1970. CBS reporter Edwin Newman was interviewing a rabbi, probably Abraham Joshua Heschel. Our patron is also unsure who made the statement, the interviewer or interviewee. We've done a lot of searching and I'm just posting this to Answerland in case anyone else has thoughts on where to find the quote. Our search has included: Bartlett's 15th, Archive's tv news archive - https://archive.org/details/tv, Vanderbilt's - https://tvnews.vanderbilt.edu/search, An On Being program which has the sentiment but not the exact quote - https://onbeing.org/programs/arnold-eisen-the-opposite-of-good-is-indifference-sep2017/, Historical Oregonian, JSTOR. Is it possible that the quote came from another source? Thank you in advance for any searching that you can do!"
