Hello Answerlanders,

A patron is looking for help:

"I'm a math tutor, and I enjoy incorporating books in my instruction. Finding fun, interesting books that relate to math concepts can be challenging. I typically use books with elementary students. Do you know of a resource I can access to more easily find these types of books?

"I am looking for both fiction and nonfiction books that incorporate math concepts and are geared to elementary students. (I am not interested in textbooks.) My current resource is my local library. Searching their catalog for specific math content areas (or even math in general) usually doesn't yield many results. This is especially true for fiction books. I have asked the librarians for assistance, and they typically get similar results. Over the years, I've been slowly building my own annotated bibliography. My methods have yielded a number of great books, but they are cumbersome. (These include manual shelf reading by topic for nonfiction books, and checking out numerous books by an author who has written a "math" fiction book and then reading them to determine their usefulness for math instruction.) When I heard about your service, I decided to find out if there are other options."
