Subject: Patron question about water heaters

Good morning Answerlanders,

A patron needs our help:

"Using a modern, efficient, commercial scale natural gas heater, how much natural gas is needed to heat water to hottest normal temperature for a full-force unwater-restricted very warm 30-minute shower. A second question is what that volume of natural gas might cost, in Oregon, for the owner of a 30-unit apartment building in which all hot water used is heated by one 50,000 gallon capacity water heater. The heater heats the water to the highest setting normal."
