RE:                          Notice of Proposed Rulemaking for OAR 333-072-0210 - "Health Care Practitioner Referral"

The Oregon Health Authority, Public Health Division is proposing permanent amendments to OAR 333-072-0210 pertaining to health care practitioner referrals.  In response to passage of SB 856 (Oregon Laws 2017, chapter 356), the definition of 'health practitioner' is being amended to include naturopathic physicians licensed under ORS chapter 685. The proposed change will require a naturopathic physician to provide notice of patient choice related to referrals for diagnostic tests, health care services or treatments.

You are being invited to review these proposed rules and to comment on them.  If you wish to present oral testimony, a public hearing will be held in Portland, Oregon at 800 NE Oregon St, Room 1D, on September 27, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. You may also file written comments before 5:00 p.m. on September 29, 2017 to the Public Health Division Rules Coordinator at the following address:
