From kimberly.fast at state.or.us Thu May 16 16:09:19 2013 From: kimberly.fast at state.or.us (FAST Kimberly * BOA) Date: Thu, 16 May 2013 23:09:19 +0000 Subject: [Boainactive] Oregon Board of Accountancy Renewal Information - 2013 Message-ID: <7F415DDD19E97A4BBBF8F84F2DBBEACA384FEC78@WPDASEXCL02.ad.state.or.us> Dear Licensees, I am writing to update you regarding the 2013 license renewal process of the State of Oregon Board of Accountancy (Board). For those of you renewing this cycle, the following changes and improvements have been implemented: 1) Proofs of Completion (POCs): the Board is returning to the renewal process that was in place prior to 2012. This means that licensees will not have to submit their CPE POCs with the renewal application. Licensees must still retain their POCs for five years after completion of the program, and submit POCs if notified that their renewal has been randomly selected for audit. 2) 2013 Renewal Forms and Instructions: These have been simplified into one application for all renewal types and includes an option for licensees to use a new, fillable .pdf renewal application form to submit their license renewal. This form and instructions are for the first time available on-line on the Board's web site www.oregon.gov/boa to provide more options for you. Every licensee who is up for renewal will still receive a paper renewal by mail. (Paper renewal applications will begin to appear in mailboxes starting this Saturday, May 18, 2013.) 3) Inactive Renewals: Due to Board rule changes that went into effect January 2012, those of you choosing to renew as inactive are subject to a minimum CPE requirement of 24 hours. As noted in item 1 above, POCs do not have to be submitted with the renewal application, and must be submitted only in the event of an audit. Thank you for your consideration of this information, and for not waiting until the last minute to submit your renewal application to the Board. Having said that, if you find yourself in a last-minute situation, you have one extra day this year to avoid a late fee since June 30, 2013 falls on a Sunday. This means submissions received at the Board Office on July 1, 2013 or postmarked that day will still be considered timely.
