RE:   Due date for submitting excess costs calculation spreadsheets

Good afternoon,

We are fast approaching the extended deadline for submitting your excess
cost calculation spreadsheets.  Most districts have already submitted,
but for those who have not please remember to have them in at the
extended deadline.

You will need to submit a copy of the spreadsheet, with signature from
an authorized district representative, to:

Oregon Department of Education
Office of Student Learning and Partnerships
255 NE Capitol Street NE
Salem, OR 97301

(Signed, dated hard copy must be sent. No electronic or fax copies,
please)

Please write the name of your district on the top of the sheet, and
place the signature at the bottom.

I want to thank all of you for your hard work in getting through this
first calculation.  The spreadsheets that have come in look very well
done.

Someday, I hope that this whole calculation can be automated, much like
MOE.  But there is work to be done to align the state chart of accounts
codes with the requirements of this calculation before that can happen.
Barb and I will be working with a group of business managers toward this
end beginning in the Spring.
