Statewide Promotional Opportunity

The Department of Administrative Services (DAS), Operations Division is
seeking a current State of Oregon employee to fill an Accountant 3 job
position in the Accounting Services located in Salem.  The Operations
Division provides operational support to DAS internal divisions, the
Office of the Governor, select boards, commissions and client agencies.
This support includes budgeting, accounting, payroll, procurement,
internal policy development, application development and technology
support. 

This position is responsible for insuring that DAS divisions and other
governmental bodies comply with state accounting rules and regulations
and assures proper functionality and accountability of fiscal
operations.  This person applies advanced accounting skills and operates
with a high degree of discretion in making independent decisions, and
integrates those decisions into individual transaction relationships.
This position is also responsible for ensuring agency objectives are met
by creating accounting structures, establishing internal controls,
performing reconciliations, and creating complex financial reports for
the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), all Revenue Bonds and
Certificates of Participation (COP) for DAS.  This position serves as
the program manager for the sub-recipient monitoring program.  


 


TO QUALIFY

*	At least 7  years of professional level accounting experience OR
*	A Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of experience OR
*	A Master's degree and at least 3 year of experience

 

Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge of SFMA, CAFR, and
COP and the ability to understand and apply Oregon accounting rules,
federal grant provisions, agency statutes, rules, policies and
procedures. 

 


WORKING CONDITIONS


 

Normal office, physical, and environmental working conditions with
extensive use of personal computers.  Occasional after-hours work may be
required.  This position is exempt for the FLSA and is not eligible for
overtime under the professional designation.  Requires lifting boxes of
ten pounds, bending, and stooping to file documents in lateral filing
cabinets.
