CAFR Contacts,
The State Controller's Division is sponsoring the Thompson Interactive
webinar "Subrecipient or Vendor: Are You Sure You Know the Difference?"
The webinar write-up provided by the vendor and information about the
date and time are below.
Subrecipient or Vendor: Are You Sure You Know the Difference?
One of the most common audit findings is that a prime grant recipient
has failed to correctly identify a subrecipient as such and has instead
executed a contract. That can lead to the complete disallowance of the
entire amount of the subaward. Recipients, subrecipients, federal grant
managers, and federal auditors need to know the distinctions between
subrecipients and contractors/vendors, understand the relevant federal
requirements, and be sure that the proper terms are included in their
agreements.
In this 90-minute webinar, grants law specialist Stacia Le Blanc will
provide you with the information to correctly identify subrecipients
from vendors, and discuss what difference that makes in the
administration of those agreements. Ms. Le Blanc will also be available
to answer your questions during the live Q&A portion of the webinar.
You'll Learn:
* Factors that distinguish a subrecipient relationship from a
vendor relationship
* Federal requirements applicable to subrecipient and vendor
agreements
* Strategies for making sure the administration of your agreements
is appropriate for the type of relationship
* What to do if a relationship has been categorized incorrectly
