Dear CAFR Contacts -

There have been some recent changes at SARS we wanted to pass along.  On December 31 both Kathy Ross and Jeanne Bock retired from state service.  While their presence and knowledge will be missed, their leadership in SARS laid a solid foundation for the future.  As Kathy and Jeanne's positions are currently vacant, please contact me, Rob Hamilton, with any questions.

Additionally, Star Thomson and Monique Fawver joined SARS in the fall as Accounting Analysts.

Star is a CPA, with an MBA from University of Nevada, Reno.  Her experience in governmental accounting began with a CPA firm in Nevada as an auditor of governments and non-profits.  In addition, Star has over ten years of experience serving in higher education as a controller, budget director, and adjunct accounting professor.  Star also has a degree in geology and has assisted her geologist husband, Kent, with gold exploration projects and rock hounding. Monique began her career with an international accounting firm before transitioning to the private sector, specifically in the high tech and financial services industries.  Her vast professional experience includes managing financial accounting and reporting, loan inventory accounting management, and commercial finance administration.  Monique is an Oregon native that spent the past 14 years living in the Phoenix, Arizona area.  Although she did enjoy her time there, she decided it was time to move back to the Northwest.
