Thanks to everyone that has responded to our survey of year-end training topics.  If you have not yet responded, please do so by this Friday.  Our goal at SARS is to provide training that is as useful as possible, so your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Hello CAFR Contacts,

We at SARS have been reviewing topics for our FY 2015 Year-End Training, and we've narrowed them down to five.  At this point, I'd like your help in determining their priority.  Please review the five topics below and rank them in terms of importance to you: 1 being your top priority and 5 being your lowest priority.


*         Investments - OAM 15.15.00

*         Expenses, Expenditures and Payables - OAM 15.40.00 PO, PR

*         Interagency/Interfund transactions, i.e. which type is most appropriate? - OAM 15.45.10

*         Capital outlay and non-capital assets. More of an overview - OAMs 15.55.00 thru 15.60.40

*         Capitalization of intangible assets (GASB 51). More in depth on this topic than bullet point above - OAM 15.60.40

Please feel free to add any comments, about the topics above, any that you would like to cover that are not in the list above, or things we should no longer do as part of our Year-End Training.  Our goal is to make our trainings as useful as possible, so any and all feedback is welcome.

Also, please note that this list isn't intended to be exhaustive of the topics we'll cover at the Year-End Training.  At this point we also intend to cover SEFA, statewide balance dates for Month 13 and any disclosure form changes, but other topics may also be covered. In addition, just because the topic is included above, does not mean that we will cover it in our training, i.e. we're not planning on covering all five topics above during the FY 2015 training.
