[Comm-Council] "Fishermen" usage

Fishers or fishermen?

Our government relations manager learned something new at the governor¹s
salmon summit recently - the preferred term for people who make their living
fishing is ³fishermen,² even when referencing females.

Even though we try to be gender-neutral, we want to use the correct industry
terminology. 

But first, we¹d like to get a sense of what term other agencies use. Do you
use ³fisher,² ³fishermen,² or some other term? Any thoughts, suggestions?
