If appropriate, could you remind staff in your agencies about this
traffic issue near the Mall?

Just a reminder that starting Tuesday, June 13, 2006, Center Street NE
will be closed to through-traffic between 17th Street NE and 14th Street
NE to allow for replacement of the bridge crossing Mill Creek

This closure is expected to last approximately four months.  

A temporary pedestrian bridge will be installed to allow pedestrian
traffic during the project.  

Signs will be posted identifying the detour routes for eastbound and
westbound traffic along 12th Street NE, State Street, and 17th Street
NE.  

Cherriots Numbers 5 and 5A buses will also be detoured along the same
route.  Bus detours will begin a day before the closure, on Monday, June
12.

Weekly updates will go out  to "ALL CITY,"  If you know of others who
should receive these updates respond via email or call 503-588-6211 and
request to be added to the weekly distribution.
