Governor Kulongoski to Sign Toxic Pollutants Bill and Healthy Oregon Act

 

Salem - In addition to signing the education budgets, tomorrow Governor
Ted Kulongoski will sign two pieces of legislation during a public bill
signing ceremony.  Senate Bill 737 complements the Governor's budget for
the Department of Environmental Quality to reduce toxic pollutants in
Oregon's rivers, including the Willamette River.  Senate Bill 329, the
"Healthy Oregon Act," creates the Oregon Health Fund Board to develop a
comprehensive plan to reform Oregon's health care system.

Ben Westlund, Senator Alan Bates and other legislative and community
leaders. 

 

What:            Signing of Senate Bills 737 and 329

at Every Age:  Head Start, K-12 and Post-Secondary Education

 

Salem - Governor Kulongoski tomorrow will be joined by legislators,
Superintendent Susan Castillo, Community College Commissioner Cam
Preus-Braly and Oregon University Chancellor George Pernsteiner to sign
the historic Head Start, K-12 and Higher Education budgets for the
2007-2009 school years.
