Governor to open the first school-based health clinic in Washington
County

(Salem) - Governor Ted Kulongoski tomorrow will open the first
school-based health in Oregon to receive $30,000 in state funding he
secured in the 2007-2009 budget.  

This is also the first school-based health clinic in Washington County
and the only clinic of Oregon's 45 school-based health clinics with a
sustainable financial model. The clinic will use a system that enables
it to charge and receive payments from public and private insurers. 

This financial model will be implemented at other school-based health
clinics once the Tigard clinic has had time to test the system. Having
the ability to charge and receive payments from insurers means these
clinics will be financially stable in the long-term, ensuring that
children have access to the health care they need.
