[Comm-Council] Oregon 150: Showcasing your agency's history

You'll recall that in January, the Governor's Office issued a memo to
agency heads on Oregon's sesquicentennial. The memo mentioned the
possibility of setting up rotating agency exhibits in the Capitol,
showcasing the history and accomplishments of state agencies. The
exhibits would go up during next year's legislative session.

This concept will be the subject of a meeting on May 8 of the Capitol
150 planning group. We've been asked to poll agencies regarding their
interest in participating, and to report to the planning group at that
meeting. Already Education, Lands, and Water have expressed an interest.

The number of interested agencies will determine the length of time each
display can stay up. The level of interest will also be a factor with
the Capitol 150 Group, which must approve the proposal.

Though we don't yet have information on size of the exhibits, we can say
that the format is likely to be attachments on panels. No existing
free-standing agency promotional or interpretive materials can be used.

The Governor's Office encourages participation by state agencies. At
your earliest convenience, please respond to James Hamrick
(james.hamrick at state.or.us), but no later that COB on May 2nd. And
please cc me. Thanks.
