Marjorie Taylor asked me to circulate the following:
Hello Agency Oregon 150 coordinators,
Starting next March, as part of the Oregon 150 celebration, agencies
will be allowed to display historical information about their agency in
the capitol.
I am serving as the coordinator and liaison between agencies and capitol
staff for this project. Please ask me questions.
Each agency that participates will have one week to display information.
It is critical that the information in the display focuses on agency
history and does not advocate for issues or particular bills.
Agency displays will begin in early March and run through mid-July, but
we will not display for several weeks in May. That schedule will allow
about 16 agencies to display information in the Galleria.
We will be using an alcove space in the Galleria for the displays - It
measures about 13' x 3'. On our behalf, the capitol is borrowing panels
to stand upright in the space that are 7' x 2'. They have wire panels
with 3"x3" squares that will accommodate hooks for hanging displays. We
will have about 10 panels for you to use (as many or few as you like)
and you may configure them in whatever way you choose (zig-zag, squares,
rectangles, etc.) as long
as patrons don't have to walk behind the panels. Please do not use
electrical cords or tables in your display. Other activities will be
going on in the Galleria while the displays are up, but there will be an
access lane in front of the display.
If your agency has a different panel system that you want to use for
your display, please do so as long as it fits within the 13' x 3' space.
If you want to loan us a panel system March - July that would be even
better!
Set up will occur on Mondays 7:30-8:30am in the capitol Galleria and
take down will occur 4:00-5:00pm on Fridays. Please plan to work on
your display during these times only.
By November 14, I would like to finalize the schedule for when each
agency will display information. I would also like to have a very
general idea of what you plan to display in the space.
Let me know if your agency is interested in participating in this Oregon
150 event and if you have a preference when you want to display in the
Galleria.
Thanks for your interest in this event!
