Subject: [Comm-Council] Reminder: State Communications Council
Meeting(April 10, at 9 a.m.)
Hi, everyone. Just a reminder that the Communications Council meets on
Friday, April 10, at 9-10:30 a.m. in Conference Room B (DAS West, 155
Cottage St. NE, Salem, 2nd floor/street level). Note the change of
venue: for this meeting only, we'll meet in DAS Conference Room B,
which is just across the hall from our usual meeting place.
This should be a lively meeting. The Governor's communications team
will update us on the federal and state stimulus packages (much has
happened since our March meeting), and introduce Courtney Warner, the
PIO for the Governor's recovery team. They'll also address the
Governor's legislative priorities and the bleak realities of the budget
situation. You'll have an opportunity to ask questions, voice your
concerns, and offer your observations and advice.
Second, we'll hear a presentation from Jennifer Lara, Manager of DAS'
Statewide Training Services, on "Transition Services," a training
program aimed at helping employees and managers confront the challenges
of layoffs and deep budget cuts. By now, we've all seen firsthand the
stress and anxiety that accompany layoffs and cuts to important
programs. The Transition Services address these challenges and provide
helpful ways to handle the associated stresses within your organization.
The agenda appears below. See you on Friday!
