Governor to Visit Community Health Centers, Urge Passage of Healthy Kids

(Salem) -Governor Ted Kulongoski on Monday will travel to Lane County
and Jackson County to visit with families at two community health
centers that received federal stimulus dollars under the American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act, funding that is being used to increase
staff in response to rising demand for services.  

The Governor will also underscore the importance of enacting his
legislation before the Legislature that will expand access to health
care for all children in Oregon and 75,000 more low-income adults. The
Governor's legislation is particularly crucial as demand for health care
is increasing as a result of the economic recession. It also represents
progress toward the long-term goal of providing access to affordable
health care for all.
