Oregon State Library is pleased to announce our training & events
Fall/Winter schedule.  Training is offered to state employees at no
cost; however, registration is required. See Fall Lecture Series and
Training Opportunities below.

Fall Lecture Series - Attend our free, luncheon lectures at the State
Library from 12:00-1:00 pm. For lecture details visit:

*         September 22 -Historian, Dr. Bill Lang, What's Jazz got to do
with it? -  Downbeats and Upbeats in 20th Century Oregon Cultural
History   

*         October 13 - Professor Jackson B. Miller, Voters Have Spoken:
Oregon's Controversial Ballot Initiatives, an Oregon Humanities
Conversation Project  

*         November 17 - Oregon author, Bill Sullivan, Oregon's Greatest
Natural Disasters  

*         December 1 - Historian, Virginia Green, SHINE on Salem 150

 Training is currently offered in both Salem and Portland.

**Library Mini-Learning Conference - Salem

 

Popular 3-hour workshop provides agency employees with a solid
introduction to library information products and services.  Optional
library tour follows conference.

Hands On Learning - Portland and Salem

 

Classes provide focused instruction in a computer lab environment.

Curriculum is designed to build database, internet, and general research
skills.  We also offer instruction in using our online survey tool.
