SALEM HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION ROAD CLOSURE AND PARKING INFORMATION

On the evening of Friday, June 10, 2011, McNary, McKay, and North Salem
High Schools will hold their graduation ceremonies on the Oregon State
Fairgrounds in the Pavilion and Armory.  Due to the large number of
people expected to attend the graduations, the Salem and Keizer Police
Departments will be working with Public Works and the School District to
mitigate traffic congestion issues in the area around the fairgrounds.
As a result, there will be several street closures on June 10, 2011,
from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m. to facilitate the movement of traffic to and
from the graduation ceremonies.  

The street closures are as follows:

- 17th Street NE between Harrison Street NE and Woodrow Street NE
- Sunnyview Road NE between 16th Street NE and Evergreen Street NE

For graduates, families, and friends, the following information will
help you get to the right place.

McNary High School graduation:  Entry to the fairgrounds will be via the
"Red gate" off  17th Street NE, north of Sunnyview Road NE.  Parking
will be on the west side of the building.  Exiting the parking area will
be via the "Yellow gate" onto Silverton Road NE heading east.  

McKay High School graduation:  Entry to the Pavilion will be off
Sunnyview Road NE, east of 17th Street NE, into the main driveway to the
Pavilion.  Exiting the Pavilion will be the same as entry.  

North Salem High School graduation:  Graduates, families, and friends
will park in the grass parking area accessed off 17th Street NE and
Harrison Street NE.  

Handicap parking will be provided and can be accessed from the north on
17th Street NE at Woodrow Street NE.  A Department of Transportation
handicapped parking permit is necessary to gain entry.
