Governor Kitzhaber Statement on the Joint Ways and Means Committee’s Passage of SB 766



(SALEM, Ore.) — Governor Kitzhaber released the following statement after SB 766, to protect regionally significant industrial areas from conversion and speed permitting when capital projects are performed on those lands, passed out of the Joint Ways and Means committee today.

“SB 766 is an important part of Oregon’s economic recovery strategy and I applaud the Ways and Means Committee for moving it,” said Governor Kitzhaber. “This bill will provide a strong competitive advantage for Oregon and a high level of predictability for investment by the business community while maintaining our great quality of life.  I urge the Legislature to pass it.”
