Education Improvement Agenda to Become Law



(SALEM, Ore.) —Governor Kitzhaber released the following statement after SB 909 and other education bills passed the Legislature.

“The House and Senate have shown bold leadership today to improve public education in Oregon,” said Governor Kitzhaber. “We’ve succeeded in shifting the debate about education from solely focusing on K-12 funding to the structural changes needed to deliver better results for students, more resources for teachers, and more accountability for taxpayers. Forceful policy is not a substitute for adequate education funding and I remain committed to both a better structure and better funding for public education in Oregon from early childhood to post-secondary education and training."
