Good afternoon all,

I wanted to share something wonderful that happened today in Josephine County. After lots of hard work, meetings, and presentations, The Board of County Commissioners declared the Juvenile Justice Center Campus Tobacco-Free and Vape-Free today in their Weekly Business Session. I offered information about health and economic concerns, specific concerns regarding the facility itself, and answered a question from Commissioner DeYoung as well.
It is a great to have two facilities now Tobacco-free and Vape-free, and I am working towards all County properties becoming that way in the future. I feel very honored and grateful that I serve the residents of Josephine County in a capacity that allows me to help improve the health and quality of life for everyone that lives, visits, or works in Josephine County.

It is around 6 minutes that I am at the podium, and the link starts the video where I am at the beginning of the speaking portion for the consideration of the declaration.
I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has helped me through this process. I know I have spoken to quite a few of you regarding different things being done in your counties, and that information has been extremely helpful since I am new in my role and have been the Tobacco Prevention Coordinator for just a little over 7 months now. Onward and upward! (She says as she sits at her desk wearing a blue hero cape-yes, I do have one and it rocks!).
