Dear Tobacco Prevention Partners,

The Multnomah County Tobacco Control and Prevention Program (TCPP) has been
busy putting together a toolkit to help our Licensed Retailers understand
the new Minimum Legal Sales Age Law for tobacco prior to the effective date
of January 1st 2018.

Knowing U.S. postal workers are busy this holiday season, our team is
getting the toolkit materials out the door this week. We’re hopeful that
our retailers across the county will receive it prior to the new year.

A brief rundown of the materials included in our mailing:

(Contact us if you are interested in having a copy of any of the following
materials)

   -

   Cover letter
   -

Age sticker and window cling (additional details below)
   -

“Things to know about selling tobacco or vape products in Multnomah
   County”

We’re really excited that included in this toolkit is a special window
cling designed by a local artist with our input and finalized after
receiving feedback from high school age youth. The decal was requested by
retailers to help them communicate to their customers, specifically 18, 19,
and 20 year olds, that they cannot purchase tobacco or vape products in
Oregon.

I’m attaching a version of this decal which we’d like to offer as a tool to
other agencies and jurisdictions doing similar work across the state. As
you’ll notice, this decal version is without our county’s logo allowing its
use outside of Multnomah County. Please review it and if you are interested
in printing and distributing a decal to tobacco retailers in your county,
please contact us for assistance.

As the recently hired TCPP Communications Specialist I look forward to
assisting with your inquiries.
