HPCDP is going through the rulemaking process to incorporate changes to administrative rules associated with the passage of SB 754, which increases the legal age to purchase tobacco products and inhalant delivery systems from 18 to 21. Please see the information below regarding the public comment period for the revised rules.

"Standards for increasing the age to purchase tobacco products and inhalant delivery systems"

The Oregon Health Authority, Public Health Division, is proposing permanent amendments to chapter 333, division 15, pertaining to the Oregon Indoor Clean Air Act (ICAA) and sales of tobacco and inhalant delivery systems to persons under 21 years of age. The proposed amendments are related to statutory changes from the passage of Senate Bill 754 (Oregon Laws 2017, chapter 701), which increased the legal sale age to purchase tobacco products and inhalant delivery systems from 18 to 21.
You are being invited to review and comment on the proposed rules. If you wish to present oral testimony, the following public hearings will be held:
* November 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.: Jackson County Health Department, Room HHS1EDCTR1009 - 140 S Holly Street, Medford, OR 97501
* November 28, 2017 at 1:30 p.m.: Portland State Office Building, Room 1A - 800 NE Oregon Street, Portland, OR 97232
You may also file written comments before 5:00 p.m. on November 30, 2017, by submitting them to the Public Health Division Rules Coordinator at the following address:
