Good afternoon,

Run one cut off for January was yesterday. Please remember that if you did not update P010 for retirees by end of day yesterday, P060 entries will be needed for run 1 wages.

Subject: FW: Revised P010 in OSPA & RETIREE CONTRIBUTIONS

Good afternoon,

The new P010 screen is live and agencies are now able to make entries for working retirees as per the attached instructions. Please remember that P010 does not recalculate PERS contributions to include the whole months on run 2. This means entries need to be completed by run 1 (January 27th) to ensure employer contributions are calculated correctly. Entries for January entered after run 1 may require P060 adjustments to be made since P010 updates made between run 1 and run 2 will not calculate contributions on wages that were paid on run 1.

As Seth indicated in the email below, all retirees working in 2020 will need to fill out the new 2020 Fed W-4 and a state W-4. This is required since the calculation of the W4 changed in 2020 and changes to the P010 could make existing selections inaccurate.

If you have any questions about retiree contributions please contact me. If you have questions about updating P010 and the new W4, please contact the OSPS help desk.

Thank you,

Subject: OSPS E-News ~ Revised P010 in OSPA

Payroll professionals,

The changes to the P010 screen will migrate to production tonight. OSPS staff will be updating the 2020 tax tables tomorrow and doing some spot checking to validate those updates.

If for some reason there are issues with the migration or tax table validations an eNews will be sent out tomorrow.

Next week agencies will be free to begin entering in new W-4 and PERS information for the January (or future) pay period. OSPA is up and running on Monday. Please get the appropriate approval prior to working on the holiday.

Remember any changes to the P010 that will have a pay period date of 01/31/20 or later will require the agency to verify the employee has a 2020 Federal and State W-4 on file. If the employee does not a 2020 W-4 on file, then the payroll office will need to request them from the employee. We recommend the employee go into Workday and update their withholding elections.

The following are some of the typical actions that will require the agency to review the W-4s on file for the employee.
Employee transfers
PERS eligibility
Retirees - existing or new

Thanks,

Seth Lewis
