Hello Payroll Shops,
With the implementation of Workday Payroll, new reports and files were developed to provide needed information to PERS for all state employee retirement accounts. The new CPERS file was delivered timely to PERS during the month of January for December pay period wages. Unfortunately, the report that delivers the employee and employer funds to PERS needed a lot of work and was delivered late in PERS' statement process during January. This caused the following delays:
1. PERS doesn't fund the IAP contributions to VOYA for each employee account until PERS has received the payment from the employer (all state agencies in our case). Employee retirement accounts were updated timely, but the VOYA accounts were not. The wages posted, but the IAP did not fund on time and IAP contributions cannot show on employee online accounts until the funding takes place. The funding has now taken place, but the situation caused delays in posting IAP contributions to VOYA.
2. Because the January payment was late, it caused a cascading effect that can take several months to catch up. The DAS CPERS team is working diligently to ensure the full funding each month and will monitor IAP VOYA posting.
