Law Enforcement Officers as Domestic Violence Victims and Offenders

Johns Hopkins Domestic Violence Education Program Administrator David R.
Thomas

This webinar will discuss the challenges when law enforcement officers
are identified as suspects or victims in domestic violence cases.  This
webinar will provide an overview of risk assessments, criminal and
administrative system challenges and promising law enforcement,
prosecution, and advocacy practices to promote victim safety and
offender accountability in these cases.  The presenters will address
important investigative responses, clarify legal issues and identify
ways to coordinate improved responses to these unique cases from the
disclosures of abuse through the criminal post conviction and
administrative employment discipline or discharge process.  This webinar
is recommended for a multi-disciplinary audience including prosecutors,
law enforcement officers, and victim advocates.

limited and preference will be given to U.S. Department of Justice,
Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) grantees and sub-grantees. If

NOTE: This webinar is an on-line seminar that requires a computer and an
Internet connection. After your registration has been confirmed, we will
provide a web link for you to fully access the visual and audio
accompanying this webinar. If you do not have speakers or access to
Internet audio a conference call number will also be provided.
