State v. Henley (October 26, 2016)

Child sex abuse case in which expert testimony was offered by the State through a forensic interviewer about the topic of "grooming." The court held that the forensic interviewer was qualified under OEC 702 to offer testimony about grooming and, further, that her testimony did not constitute 'scientific evidence' which would require a Brown/O'Key foundation. The COA affirmed the ruling of the court admitting the expert testimony and Defendant's convictions.
