TRAINING: Best Practices for a Survivor-Centered Response and Successful Prosecution of Sexual Assault Cases
This free Academy is designed to equip prosecutors and law enforcement with the knowledge, strategies, and practical tools needed to effectively prosecute sexual assault cases. Participants will explore best practices for building strong cases from initial report through trial, with a focus on survivor-centered and trauma-informed approaches.

Through expert-led presentations and real-world case examples, attendees will learn how to strengthen investigations, collaborate with law enforcement and victim advocates, and present compelling evidence in court. The academy will also address common challenges in sexual assault prosecutions, including delayed disclosure, victim credibility issues, digital evidence, and offender tactics.

Topics will include case preparation, trial strategy, jury selection considerations, working with expert witnesses, advance neurobiology of trauma, and ethical responsibilities in prosecuting sexual violence. This training is ideal for new and experienced prosecutors seeking to enhance their skills, improve case outcomes, and promote justice for survivors.

Participants will leave with practical tips, resources, and proven strategies to support the successful prosecution of sexual assault cases while maintaining a survivor-centered approach.
