Greetings! Mark your calendars for the upcoming session, Web 2.0
Technologies, on March 18th, 2009 sponsored by the Cascadia Chapter of
ASTD and its Salem GIG.
Please join us for a highly practical presentation on Web 2.0
technologies presented by Kevin Jones. There is a lot of talk about,
and fear regarding Web 2.0. With the shaky economy and tightening
budgets, is this even a time to look at something new? You better
believe it! In fact, the use of these technologies are being relied
upon even more heavily during these times of budget cuts and shrinking
staff because of their communication power. If you are not already
thinking about how to integrate these technologies, you are missing out
on a powerful, yet inexpensive resource. Join us as we look at what Web
2.0 is, examples of how and why it works, the underlying technologies
and what you need to do about it NOW.
Kevin Jones is a leader in using Web 2.0 tools in learning. He consults
with companies on integrating social media into their organizations and
into their learning strategy. He has spoken at many conferences,
association meetings and webinars regarding the integration & best
practices of "Social Learning." Kevin holds a degree in Business
Administration from the University of Oregon and is nearing the
completion of a Masters in Instructional & Performance Technologies from
Boise State University. His blog and Social Learning podcast can be
found at http://engagedlearning.net.
