This is a great opportunity for our youth. Please consider sending in a
nomination for a youth with disabilities so that the views and needs of all
the students in Oregon are represented.

Superintendent's Youth Advisory Team Announcement
During Superintendent Castillo's campaign, the idea of a Student Advisory
Board for the Oregon Department
of Education was created. Superintendent Castillo wants to give students a
way to voice their concerns about
Oregon's educational future. To this end she is creating a Youth Advisory
Team, and is seeking a diverse group
of 20-25, 8th grade through college freshmen, students ready to advise her
on education issues.
Students must attend the quarterly meetings in Salem, and should have an
interest in using their personal
experiences to advise the Superintendent and other state leaders, students,
educators, and community members.
Education professionals are invited to nominate a student to the Youth
Advisory Team, but a nomination is not
required to apply.
