RE: FYI -- Supplemental Educational Service Providers
Supplemental Education Services are required by No Child Left Behind (NCLB)
to be offered by districts to eligible students attending Title IA funded
schools failing to make Adequate Yearly Progress for three consecutive
years. Services may include one-on-one tutoring, small group instruction or
other services offered outside of regular school hours. Services may be
provided on school grounds, at facilities offering the services or through
distance learning.
The Oregon Supplemental Educational Service Providers website is now
available at <http://www.ode.state.or.us/iasa/supped/index.htm>.
The Oregon Supplemental Educational Service Provider Application is now
available at this website as well as the Guidance and Instructions for
completing the application. Other resource documents available at this
website include:
* Criteria for Providers
* A Questions and Answers page
* The law and a synopsis of the law
* Link to the U.S. Department of Education's Non-Regulatory Guidance.
Upon receipt and approval of applications, the provider will be notified,
and the applications will be added to the Oregon Supplemental Education
Provider list (also located at this website). Each application will be in
PDF format, so they can be opened and viewed. Additional attachments and
signed assurances will be kept on file at the Oregon Department of
Education. However, copies can be obtained from providers upon request.
