To Superintendents, Principals and Administrators:

Attached you will find the application materials for The
Superintendent's Literacy and Secondary School Reform Institute. 

This will be an exciting opportunity for professionals to come together
in school teams to design a plan for improvement at the secondary level.
Teams will be able to include middle schools as well as adult education
Partners to provide a comprehensive view of learning through literacy
skill acquisition. 

The Oregon Department of Education will be able to help defray costs of
those school teams selected to attend. Please help us make sure that
this material reaches those who may be interested in assembling a team
and submitting an application. We believe that this unique experience
will provide educators with the time and resources to strengthen their
School Improvement Plans and that the implementation of these plans will
have a positive impact on the literacy skills of students.
