TO:      District and ESD Special Education Directors

RE:      2005-06 Early Intervening Services

 

Enclosed you will find the Early Intervening Services Collection form
and instructions.  The form is collecting information for the 2005-06
school year, and is due no later the September 30, 2006.  These
documents can also be found on the ODE web site at 
http://www.ode.state.or.us/search/page/?id=479.  

 

This is a new requirement in IDEA 2004.  All districts and agencies
using IDEA funds must report annually to the state the number of
students who received Early Intervening Services and the number who
received Early Intervening Services and subsequently receive special
education and related services during the two year period after
receiving Early Intervening Services.  This information could change
based on the recently released federal regulations.
