RE: Draft Revisions to Oregon Standard IEP for Field Review and
Comment

The IDEA 2004 final regulations effective October 13, 2006, included
changes that impacted the Oregon Standard IEP; both Part A: Guidelines
for completion, and Part B: the IEP form. The Oregon Department of
Education (ODE) has completed revisions to comply with IDEA 2004. In
addition to the required revisions, enhancements were included to
provide clarity. You will see two Oregon Standard IEP's; one for
students age 15 and younger, and one for students of secondary
transition age, 16 or older.

A draft of both revised Oregon Standard IEP documents with revisions
highlighted in turquoise is posted at the following link for your review
and comment: http://www.ode.state.or.us/search/page/?=1175
<https://mail.ode.state.or.us/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.ode.s
tate.or.us/search/page/?=1175> . The timeline for the comment period is
listed below.

ODE will make final edits to these documents at the end of the comment
period and will post the final formats to the website by April 30, 2007.
Once these documents are finalized, any districts wishing to apply for
use of alternate IEP(s) must submit for approval if they want to use an
alternate form. Information on this process is forthcoming.
