Site Evacuation Coordinators,
The DAS Emergency Evacuation Planning web site was updated per your
December requests. We try to update monthly.
As a reminder, there are two important dates per building in the Capitol
Mall area:
* The date of your building's last earthquake drill. Earthquake
drills were mandated by the 2001 Legislature to be annually. (The drill
is generally initiated by blowing a whistle followed by "drop, cover,
and hold;" evacuation is optional.)
* The date of your building's last evacuation drill. The RisKey
document, Sound The Alarm, calls for one building-wide evacuation per
year. Since a fire is your most likely emergency event, do a fire drill
at least once every other year. The event selected to trigger the
evacuation during "in between" years may be earthquake, hazardous
material, armed intruder, or another chosen emergency event. (Preparing
for emergencies according to Sound The Alarm meets the requirements of
both the local fire department and OR-OSHA rules.)
Check out the top link at this site. Contact me if there is information
that needs to be updated.

If you have not yet done it, check out the other available sources of
information too.
