A small work group has been created to define the process that Framework
groups will go through when submitting funding proposals each biennium.
There is one representative from GPL (Laer Haider, DHS), FIT (Bob
Harmon, OWRD), PAC (Gary Gipson, OED), & DAS EISPD (Ed Arabas).
Bob is seeking input from you on the criteria that will be used by FIT
to evaluate proposals. Laer and Gary are doing the same for their
groups. Please send Bob suggestions [mailto:harmonrc at wrd.state.or.us]
for these criteria before the next FIT meeting (Thurs., 3/13, after the
Framework Standards Forum at OSU) where it will be a discussion item.
FIT will also have an opportunity at a later date to comment on the
proposed process before it goes to OGIC for final approval.
Examples of criteria include:
1) Must support data development for an approved Framework standard
2) Must further the goals of the statewide Framework effort
GPL (GIS Program Leaders) will be reviewing each proposal on its
technical merits, while the PAC (Policy Advisory Group) will be focusing
on policy criteria.
