The grants announced Monday would be given to up to a half dozen companies help for doing feasibility studies on building or expanding plants that burn forest thinnings to produce energy, or turn woody biomass into fuel. They are part of the governor’s plan to build the biomass industry to create new jobs, new sources of energy, and promote thinning
