Hello Fruit and Veggie Partners,

The National Fruit and Vegetable Alliance SRC Special Populations Work Group has a new set of resources to support work promoting fruits and vegetables in special populations. These resources target the following populations groups.

• Resources and Tips for Working with African American Churches
• Resources and Tips for Working in Adolescent Community Settings
• Resources and Tips for Working with Asian and Pacific Islanders
• Resources and Tips for Working with Low-income Hispanic Mothers
• Resources and Tips for Working with Native Americans (to be released later this year)

Each document provides background information and an extensive inventory of resources including programs and interventions, print resources, professional resources, partners and funding sources.

Here are some ways that you may be able to use these resources locally.

• Identify settings where special populations may be reached
• Access health and nutrition statistics for special populations
• Look at examples of programs and interventions
• Read about current research and best practices
• Find materials for non-English speaking populations
• Find resources to use to supplement your nutrition programs and curriculum
• Identify potential sources of funding for interventions targeting special populations
