this year the WAURISA conference (Bellevue, WA, USA) from May 4th-6th will have a workshop organized by the CUGOS group "Introduction to Open Source GIS - A Practical Approach" and a substantial number of talks related to FOSS4G (10+ presentations out of 60 or so)  <http://www.osgeo.org/node/881> http://www.osgeo.org/node/881 .
