Project Summary: ** Please refer to the attachment for a more detailed description of the project.
The outcome of Oregon's NOAA Coastal Management Fellowship project from 2009-2011 is a geo-spatial database of dikes, levees, and tide gates in Oregon's estuaries.   The purpose of these data products is to provide the State of Oregon, local governments, watershed councils, landowners, and others with information by which to plan for adaptation to effects of sea-level rise and to aid infrastructure and habitat restoration investment decisions in Oregon estuaries.
Secondary benefits of the project include increased outreach and networking with local county planners, watershed organizations, and NGOs to identify and verify information on dikes and to raise awareness of the need to plan for the effects of sea-level rise, increased coastal hazards, and opportunities for restoration.
