URISA's GIS Management Institute announces the 2014 Organizational GIS Metric Survey. To strengthen the GIS profession and improve Organizational GIS, the GIS Management Institute (GMI)(r) has developed the 2014 State of Organizational GIS Survey. The key focus and goals of the survey are to:

  1.  Enable GIS managers and organizations that employ GIS to gain understanding and insights into how Organizational GIS are implemented and operated in their organization and other organizations today.
  2.  Provide new, comparable, metrics and information from survey results to the wider community of GIS managers, educators, students, contractors and consultants to help identify strengths and opportunities for improving cost-effective utilization of geospatial technology within their organizations.
  3.  Present the results of the survey by publishing findings in the first annual GMI "State of Organizational GIS" report.
  4.  Provide a survey that is comprehensive, detailed, and global.
