Geospatial analysis and GIS are changing how we think about the world. The cloud, web services, remote sensing, app developers, mobile platforms, are taking GIS away from the desktop and into the field, where new sorts of data, gathered from across many disciplines, reveal social and cultural patterns and their connections to natural resources. Using innovative maps and visualizations to present these data, GIS users are helping decision makers better understand social and environmental dynamics, and changing how people think about and use geographical information.
What's new with you and GIS today? How are you using GIS to answer important questions and solve problems? Where do you think the leading edge of geospatial technology will take you tomorrow?
