Hi all,

I wanted to share an ESRI software BUG that I discovered last week that involves the OCRS Oregon Coast coordinate system and GeoTiffs. ESRI has logged this as BUG-000159374 with a severity of HIGH.

The defect is that the software does not write the correct tags for the OCRS Oregon Coast coordinate system into the header of any GeoTiff that it creates or edits. The resulting raster ends up displaying in the wrong spatial location by millions of feet/meters. This issue does not affect vector data. Testing shows that both ArcGIS Desktop and ArcPro are impacted and so are all the flavors of the OCRS Oregon Coast included in the ESRI software:

EPSG:6843 OCRS Oregon Coast NAD 1983 2011 OM (Feet Intl)
EPSG:6842 OCRS Oregon Coast NAD 1983 2011 OM (Meters)
EPSG:6841 OCRS Oregon Coast NAD 1983 CORS96 OM (Feet Intl)
EPSG:6840 OCRS Oregon Coast NAD 1983 CORS96 OM (Meters)

Hopefully this will get addressed soon but in the interim I've been successful in using GDAL for some of the raster operations I would normally do with the ESRI tools.

Regards,
